New Pro Bono Services Volunteer Coordinator!

Introducing Gwen Remmen, Pro Bono Services Volunteer Coordinator for the King County Bar Association!  Although many of you know Gwen from her previous position with the Housing Justice Project in Seattle, we wanted to take some time to ask her questions about volunteering and her interests. Read her answers below:

Why do you think volunteering is important?
“Volunteering improves our communities and our country. Plus, there is a growing body of research that indicates volunteering provides individual health benefits in addition to social benefits.”

What is your hobby or favorite summer activity?
“I love hiking and snowshoeing at Paradise in Mt. Rainier National Park, so I decided to start volunteering as a park meadow ranger. I provide general assistance to visitors and information on a wide range of topics including: trails, flowers, wildlife, mountain climbing, resource conservation and science.”

Best place to eat in Seattle?
“Endolyne Joe’s which is located near the Fauntleroy Ferry Dock and Lincoln Park in West Seattle, Joe’s unique, rotating menu takes diners for a spin through the Americas each quarter. Must try: the caramel apple pancakes.”
