“Focus on Family Law” Training: Overview of the Domestic Violence Prevention Act

This training is open to current KCBA Pro Bono Services Volunteers only.

Here’s a free no-hassle opportunity to learn useful practice tips from experienced practitioners on focused family law topics. These trainings are designed with the new/newer attorney in mind and go beyond the initial trainings covered by the family law pro bono programs.

Date: Tuesday, April 2, 2013  10:30a.m.-11:30a.m.

Attendance is in person or via streaming video. Registration is NOT required. Attend in person at KCBA’s Office, Conference Room 2 or via streaming page. For instructions on streaming from your office, contact the KCBA Program Manager you are volunteering for.

1.0 general CLE credits pending

Topics include:

  • Overview of the Domestic Violence Prevention Act
  • Overview of the process for obtaining Domestic Violence Protection Order and preparation for a hearing
  • Intersection of family law orders (and other court orders) with domestic violence orders
