Intern Highlight – Dash DeJarnatt

This is the first post in our Intern Highlight series, which will introduce you to the 2012 KCBA Pro Bono Services summer interns. Dash  is currently a student at Seattle University School of Law, and is interning for our Volunteer Legal Services (VLS) program. We asked Dash a couple of questions, and his answers are below:

Q: What originally drew you the Volunteer Legal Services (VLS) program?

A: VLS helps serve community members who need help the most, but can’t afford typical legal representation.  I just wanted to give back to the community that has treated me so well for my entire life.

Q: What is your favorite quote?

A: “Only the refusal to listen guarantees one against being ensnared by the truth.”

-Robert Nozick

Q: What is your favorite comfort food?

A: The food that I make.  I love cooking.  It’s my therapeutic release at the end of the day. There is nothing like a homemade pasta sauce made with: garlic, fresh herbs and spices, ground beef, garlic, tomatoes, red onions, garlic, a splash of wine, and a kick of crushed red peppers to go on any pasta (and garlic bread).

Q: Do you have any unique hobbies?

A: I make wine.  I have been part of the wine making process my entire life.  My family and I make roughly 40 cases of a cab sauv/merlot blend each year.  This year, I will hopefully expand my operations to brewing beer.

We would like to thank Dash for his time and commitment to the Volunteer Legal Services program, and say welcome to the KCBA Pro Bono Services team!
